Ben Shapiro Criticizes Tucker Carlson for Hosting Nick Fuentes
Ben Shapiro launched a sharp critique of Tucker Carlson, accusing the former Fox News personality of enabling extremist rhetoric by hosting white nationalist Nick Fuentes. He argued that Carlson’s recent interview with Fuentes had crossed a moral boundary and was far from a matter of free speech.
“This is not about free speech,” Shapiro said in his monologue titled “Tucker Carlson Sabotages America.”
During his address, Shapiro characterized Carlson as “an intellectual coward, a dishonest interlocutor, and a terrible friend.” He claimed Carlson had become “the most virulent super-spreader of vile ideas in America,” accusing him of subtly mainstreaming extremist messages under the guise of conservative discourse.
“Tucker Carlson decided to normalize and fluff Nick Fuentes … and the Heritage Foundation robustly defended that performance,” Shapiro continued.
Shapiro also criticized the Heritage Foundation after its president, Kevin Roberts, publicly supported Carlson. Roberts had praised Carlson as a “close ally” and condemned those attempting to “cancel” him, referring to such groups as a “venomous coalition” seeking to divide conservatives.
“Kevin said openly that Tucker Carlson can do nothing ever that will sever his relationship with the conservative movement,” Shapiro fumed.

Shapiro’s remarks have reignited debate within the conservative movement about the line between free expression and platforming extremist voices. While Carlson’s supporters defended the interview as open discourse, critics argue it grants legitimacy to bigoted ideologies.
