Several personalities from Today appeared as cohosts on Jenna & Friends this week. Craig Melvin's debut as cohost alongside Jenna Bush Hager had a somewhat rocky but amusing start.

Melvin joined Bush Hager at the Today desk for the fourth hour on Monday, November 3. Upon arrival, he commented, This is a nice set. Then he surprised everyone by admitting, You know, I’ve never seen the show.

That is so rude,

responded Bush Hager with a smile.

Melvin explained his reason for not watching before was due to scheduling conflicts. Well, because usually, we’re just getting off, he said, referring to the third hour of Today that airs before Jenna & Friends. I’m usually in transit, but this is nice. … I know, I could probably watch some of it.

At the beginning of the show on Monday, Melvin also took a moment to praise Jenna Bush Hager’s success with the program. Since Hoda Kotb left Today in January, Bush Hager has been cohosting with various celebrity guests.

What you have managed to do over the last few months on this show, from just a purely broadcasting perspective, as the kids would say, real recognize[s] real,

he said. To be able to sit next to someone different every day or two and do this, that’s a feat.

Author’s summary: Craig Melvin humorously confessed he had never watched Jenna & Friends before cohosting, while praising Jenna Bush Hager’s impressive adaptability on the show.
