Artificial intelligence continues to expand across all aspects of Adobe's ecosystem and now even includes third-party technologies. At its recent Creative Conference, Adobe unveiled a wide array of new tools and features that emphasize deeper AI integration into image and video editing products.
The main takeaway from the conference is that AI is now embedded in nearly all Adobe applications. This includes the popular image generator Firefly and other external AI models. For example, the highly regarded upscaling models from Topaz Labs have been added to Photoshop. Additionally, background generation can now leverage models from Google such as Gemini.
"The development in artificial intelligence is so rapid that it is better to cooperate than to replicate everything."
Adobe’s openness to integrating technologies from third-party providers reflects a pragmatic approach to staying current in the fast-moving AI space.
Lightroom, however, follows a slightly different strategy. Instead of relying heavily on external tools, it mirrors features developed by others. A prime example is the new “Assisted Image Selection” function, which, based on Adobe's presentations, closely resembles the tool found in Excire Search.
In addition to Adobe’s announcements, Insta360 introduced a more affordable 360-degree camera model, making immersive photography accessible to a wider audience.
Adobe expands AI integration across Photoshop and Lightroom, embracing partnerships and internal innovation, while Insta360 launches a budget-friendly 360° camera.
