Lightroom's New Features: Overview
Adobe has released an October 2025 update for Lightroom Classic, introducing six new features along with performance upgrades, new camera profiles, and updated lens profiles.

AI-Assisted Culling Explained
After upgrading, Lightroom prompts users to activate AI-assisted culling, which automatically reviews imported photos, rejecting low-quality shots and applying minor edits to selected images.
Adobe notes, "This tool is still in early access."
To enable the feature, users navigate to Catalog Settings > Metadata > Assisted Culling or use the drop-down beside the Identity Plate to toggle Auto Analysis.
Customizing the Culling Process
After the AI completes its initial analysis, photographers can adjust sliders to refine selections based on criteria such as:
- Subject focus
- Eye focus, with an option to reject photos missing eyes entirely
- Eye openness, which can further reject images where the AI cannot determine if eyes are open
