China has extended its unilateral 30-day visa-free entry policy for citizens of several countries, including France, until December 31, 2026. The original policy was set to expire at the end of 2025.
At a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning confirmed that Beijing will maintain this visa exemption policy, which applies to multiple nations.
“To implement the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, expand high-standard opening up, and continue to facilitate cross-border travel, China has decided to extend visa-free policy to France and other countries to December 31, 2026.”
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ consular services portal lists 45 countries and territories included in this extension. Citizens from these countries can stay in China for up to 30 days without a visa for tourism, family visits, or business purposes.
Mao Ning also announced that starting November 10, 2025, Swedish citizens will be eligible for 30-day visa-free stays in China, valid until December 31, 2026.
China continues to promote international travel and openness by extending its 30-day visa-free entry policy for multiple countries, facilitating easier travel and business exchanges.
