Kevin Durant delivered 26 points in three quarters before resting in the fourth as the Houston Rockets dominated the Boston Celtics 128–101 on Saturday night. Amen Thompson added 17 points and nine rebounds, giving Houston its third straight victory after opening the season 0–2.
Alperen Sengun contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, while Josh Okogie scored 12 points. The Rockets snapped Boston’s three-game winning streak and showcased efficient shooting, hitting 57 percent in the first half and leading 66–48 at the break.

Baylor Scheierman led Boston with 17 points, Payton Pritchard had 14, and Jaylen Brown added 12 after a strong showing the previous night in Philadelphia. Josh Minott posted 10 points and six rebounds, but Boston’s effort faltered as Houston outrebounded them 53–36.
Durant shot 8-for-11 from the field and 8-for-9 from the free-throw line. Early in the third quarter, Boston’s frustrations boiled over during a stretch of technical fouls. Coach Joe Mazzula received the first technical with 9:07 left in the period, followed by a three-second violation and a flopping call on Chris Boucher. Durant capitalized with free throws, extending Houston’s lead to 74–50.
