A full-scale, hand-built reproduction of the Spitfire MK IX will serve as a powerful tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who have served in past and present conflicts this Remembrance Sunday.
The only hand-crafted, full-size Spitfire MK IX replica will be displayed in Millennium Place, Durham City, on Sunday, November 9, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
The year 2025 marks two key anniversaries:
To honor these milestones, Armed Forces Champion Councillor Andrew Harrison, supported by Squadron Leader (Retired) James A Cowan MBE and Simply Spitfire, secured the aircraft for public display as a meaningful memorial.
The Spitfire replica will be showcased along the route of Durham City's annual Remembrance Parade, which runs from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on the same day.
