After being acquired in the Kevin Durant trade, Jalen Green has not yet played for the Phoenix Suns due to a hamstring injury. That changed on Thursday in Phoenix, when the Suns faced the Los Angeles Clippers.
Jalen Green, 23, joined the Suns after averaging 20.1 points per game during his four seasons with the Houston Rockets. His debut marked his return after missing the Suns’ preseason and the first eight regular-season games because of a right hamstring strain.
In a major offseason move, Phoenix acquired Green along with Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, which they used to select Khaman Maluach. The trade sent future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets.
Despite being new to Phoenix, Green mentioned he quickly felt part of the Suns community and developed strong bonds with teammates and staff.
“Coming here, I got to know the team, and I picked up with everybody very fast. Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. From the coaching staff, to the players, to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast.”
Jalen Green’s long-awaited Suns debut completes the blockbuster Durant trade and brings new energy to Phoenix as he integrates swiftly with his teammates.
