Elder Gérald Caussé Called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Gérald Caussé, who has been serving as the Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was appointed on Thursday as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

The calling was made official by President Dallin H. Oaks, president of the Church, along with members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on November 6, 2025.

“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”

Elder Caussé expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his deep faith in Jesus Christ during remarks following his appointment.
