On Friday, the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco, CA, issued a dense fog advisory effective until 10 a.m. for the North Bay Interior Valleys.
The NWS warns of "visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog."
"Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous," says the NWS.
"If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you."
This advisory is issued when widespread dense fog forms, causing visibility to frequently drop to one-quarter of a mile or less, which makes travel challenging.
