The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a dense fog advisory for Malibu early Saturday at 2:34 a.m. This advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m., warning of significantly reduced visibility.
The NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard, CA office reports visibility could be “one quarter mile or less in dense fog.” They caution that such low visibility can create hazardous driving conditions.
“Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.”
The announcement includes Malibu and surrounding locations where widespread dense fog has developed, seriously limiting visibility to a quarter mile or less.
If possible, postpone travel during dense fog conditions; if driving, exercise caution by following recommended safety measures to reduce risks on the road.
