Natalie Cassidy has spoken again about the bullying she endured during her school years, reigniting her feud with Paloma Faith. The EastEnders actress, now 43, previously named Paloma Faith, 44, as one of her bullies. Both attended the same secondary school in London.
They studied at Islington Green School, currently known as the City of London Academy Islington. Natalie grew up in Islington, while Paloma was from Stoke Newington.
On Katherine Ryan’s podcast What’s My Age Again, Natalie shared that her favorite place was the EastEnders set, where she felt safe and happy. In contrast, school was challenging due to jealousy from peers.
“There wasn’t anywhere else I wanted to be. Maybe because when I wasn’t there, school was difficult, people were jealous,”
“You know, there was bullying that went on. So I always just wanted to be there because it was so fun and I was surrounded by nice people.”
She implied her early success, joining EastEnders at just 10 years old, might have contributed to the bullying she faced.
Earlier, on her own podcast, Natalie explicitly mentioned Paloma Faith as one of the bullies she encountered during their school years but did not directly name her in the more recent interview.
“Paloma Faith, she bullied me at school.”
Natalie Cassidy revisits painful school memories, linking jealousy from peers and early success as possible causes of bullying, and reiterates Paloma Faith's role in her experience.
