Young Bleed, a pioneering Louisiana hip-hop artist and No Limit Records performer, passed away at the age of 51 due to complications from a brain aneurysm.
His son, Ty’Gee Ramon, announced the rapper's death on Instagram, stating his father "gained his wings" on Saturday. Ty’Gee expressed his intention to carry on Young Bleed's legacy.
Born Glenn Clifton Jr., Young Bleed was hospitalized in late October after suffering a brain aneurysm caused by internal bleeding. This medical crisis occurred just days after his performance at the Cash Money Verzuz No Limit event during ComplexCon.
Tameka Long, mother of Young Bleed’s 10-year-old son, mentioned he had high blood pressure and a heart condition.
Following the aneurysm, he was placed in intensive care and put on a ventilator.
Ty’Gee Ramon noted that while his father never had significant health issues, he did have high blood pressure and regularly took medication.
Young Bleed’s mother described the hospitalization as unexpected and created a GoFundMe to help cover medical expenses.
Young Bleed was instrumental in shaping Baton Rouge hip-hop in the late 1990s. He became well-known for collaborating with Master P on the 1997 soundtrack album I'm Bout It.
His 1998 debut album achieved gold certification and reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, released under Master P’s No Limit label.
Young Bleed was a key figure in Louisiana hip-hop whose career and legacy endure despite his untimely death from a brain aneurysm at 51.
