Chicago is expecting a shift to cloudier skies with possible rain later this week, according to Fox 32 Chief Meteorologist Emily Wahls.
The city enjoyed another beautiful fall day with temperatures reaching the low to mid-60s under mostly sunny skies. This was notably warmer than the typical November 4 average high of 54 degrees, exceeding normal by 5 to 10 degrees.
A strong cold front will cause temperatures to drop sharply. Saturday’s highs will hover around 50 degrees with scattered rain showers possible. Cooler air may cause some rain to mix with snow during the day.
Sunday and Monday will see significantly colder temperatures, with highs near 40 degrees on Sunday and dropping to the upper 30s by Monday.
Fox 32 Chief Meteorologist Emily Wahls said, "Following our cold front late this week, there's a chance for rain mixing with snow as cooler air moves into the region."
Author’s summary: Chicago’s weather shifts from mild and sunny to cooler with rain and potential snow by the weekend, signaling the arrival of a strong cold front.
