Fans are reacting to first impressions of the enhanced Xbox Cloud Gaming experience. Videos highlight demanding open-world games like The Witcher 3 running smoothly at 1440p resolution.
Offered through the premium Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, the streaming quality rivals certain GeForce Now plans. Although Microsoft has faced criticism over recent Xbox Game Pass price hikes, this upgrade in streaming performance might convince some gamers to retain their subscriptions.
Following the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta, selected titles now support higher resolutions and frame rates. Jez Corden from Windows Central showcased how Xbox Cloud Gaming could stand as a strong competitor to Nvidia GeForce Now.
Subscribers paying $29.99 monthly for the top tier may be impressed by the evolved streaming performance. In Corden’s Windows Central video, several games were tested on the ROG Xbox Ally handheld device.
The Witcher 3 ran at 2560 x 1440 resolution, maintaining a consistent 60 frames per second. The change was described as a “night and day” improvement compared to earlier streaming sessions.
“Any latency was also hard to detect.”
However, only a limited selection of titles currently supports this enhanced streaming quality.
The upgraded Xbox Cloud Gaming delivers a significant boost in streaming quality with smooth 1440p/60fps gameplay, positioning itself as a competitive alternative to services like GeForce Now.
