During the first of Oasis' Australian shows, a flare was launched into the crowd at the sold-out October 31st concert in Melbourne, Australia. The event took place at Marvel Stadium as the band performed their final song, "Champagne Supernova."
Concertgoer Brad Bultman told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that initially, the flare seemed like part of the show’s pyrotechnics. However, it soon became clear that the flare was live and dangerous.
“Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flair [sic] and toss it back in the air and created more fire and smoke in a different area,” Bultman said. “I was like, ‘Oh geez’ — you hope nobody gets hurt.”
Gallagher first addressed the situation during the concert, telling the audience “naughty, naughty, naughty.” After the show, he took to X/Twitter to express his anger more strongly:
“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me,” wrote Gallagher.
