Incident Background

Bevan was found dead in his cell at around 8:25 a.m. on November 5 following reports of an inmate's death. He was serving a life sentence for the 2020 murder of his partner's two-year-old daughter, Lola James, in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire.

Judge’s Statement

"You are charged with one allegation of murder. That is so serious I therefore have to send you to Leeds Crown Court. The next hearing will be a plea and trial preparation hearing. I am not able to consider bail and so you will be remanded into custody."

District Judge Charlotte Holland set the next hearing for November 10 at Leeds Crown Court and remanded all three prisoners in custody.
