Robbie Williams takes a nostalgic step back to 1995 with his new video for the song “Human,” featuring Jesse and Joy. The video captures the essence of a significant era in British music.
“I set out to create the album that I wanted to write and release after I left Take That in 1995. It was the peak of Britpop and a golden age for British Music. I’ve worked with some of my heroes on this album; it’s raw, there are more guitars and it’s an album that’s even more upbeat and anthemic than usual. There’s some ‘Brit’ in there and there’s certainly some ‘pop’ too – I’m immensely proud of this as a body of work and I’m excited for fans to hear this album.”
The album includes tracks like It’s OK Until The Drugs Stop Working and Pocket Rocket, showcasing a fresh yet vintage sound blending rock and pop influences.
This new phase in Williams’ career follows the release of the 2024 film Better Man, a unique biopic highlighting the singer’s vibrant personality. Directed by Michael Gracey, known for The Greatest Showman, the film earned high praise with an 89% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
“The movie’s innovative concept — Williams is portrayed throughout as a chimpanzee thanks to actor Jonno Davies and some cutting-edge special effects — and slightly offbeat take on the classic ‘biopic’ concept was refreshing.”
Robbie Williams revisits his musical roots from 1995 with an upbeat new album and video, complementing a critically acclaimed, innovative biopic that celebrates his dynamic persona.
