Liu Praises Northern Ireland
During the festival in Belfast, Liu expressed her admiration for the locals, describing them as “warm and welcoming.” She shared some details from her visit, mentioning she enjoyed traditional items like soda bread and potato bread but opted out of trying black pudding.
“It’s just an honour to be here and to celebrate all of the art and the culture the festival has brought to the community,” Liu told BBC News NI.
Filming Experience and Film Premiers
In 2023, Lucy Liu spent a month in Northern Ireland filming the action comedy Old Guy, where she had “a great working experience” and formed “really lovely friends.”
Rosemead, which had its Irish premiere at the festival, focuses on the story of a terminally ill mother and her schizophrenic teenage son. Liu not only starred in the film but also served as producer, deepening her involvement in the storytelling process.
