Shoshana Bean, who starred in the Broadway production of Wicked, revealed in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE that she has not yet watched Wicked: Part 1, despite the upcoming release of its sequel, Wicked: For Good, hitting theaters in November.
Speaking at the New York Restoration Project Hulaween Gala on October 24, Bean explained her choice to delay viewing the first film until the second is available. At 48, she expressed excitement about watching both movies consecutively.
“I waited until the second, so I could watch them back-to-back,” Bean said. She added that she’s “absolutely” thrilled to experience both films in sequence.
Bean, who portrayed Elphaba on Broadway from 2005 to 2006, is particularly eager to see how the song “No Good Deed” is brought to life on the big screen.
“It’s a very cinematic song, and I would love to see it have more life than what a stage is capable of doing,” she remarked. “I could not even possibly imagine to the extent that Jon Chu’s genius can dream, can create.”
Shoshana Bean postpones watching the first Wicked film to enjoy both parts consecutively, eagerly anticipating the cinematic treatment of iconic songs.
