Elizabeth Olsen has long appreciated Marvel’s devoted following, but recently she found a new point of connection through her passion for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The actress explained that becoming a dedicated Dodgers fan allowed her to better understand the enthusiasm and emotional investment of Marvel fans.
Appearing on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" ahead of her new film “Eternity,” co-starring Callum Turner and Miles Teller, Olsen arrived dressed in full Dodger gear to celebrate the team’s back-to-back World Series victories. The actress admitted feeling “overwhelmed,” as members of the championship team were also guests that evening.
During the conversation, Olsen revealed that her Dodgers fandom is a relatively recent passion, one she’s embraced over the past eight years. Fans attending comic conventions have even started gifting her Dodger-inspired items, like a Scarlet Witch headpiece painted in team colors and a custom Kike Hernandez t-shirt.
“In some ways, it’s been interesting because there are Marvel fans, and so I’m on the other end of that,” Olsen said. “It wasn’t really until I started doubling down every year on the Dodgers that I realized how much I am a fan of it.”
Host Jimmy Kimmel helped clarify her reflection, noting that Olsen now better understands what Marvel fans “were all screaming about”—with affection and curiosity rather than judgment.
Elizabeth Olsen shared how her passion for the Dodgers gave her a deeper appreciation of fandom, helping her relate more authentically to Marvel’s devoted supporters.
