The Lebanese design duo David Raffoul and Nicolas Moussallem of David/Nicolas reinterpret Buccellati’s centuries-old silversmithing tradition in a warm, nature-inspired installation at Downtown Design Dubai.
Earlier this year at NOMAD St. Moritz, Buccellati presented “Convivium Montis,” where David/Nicolas reimagined alpine chalets through the jewelry house’s craftsmanship and heritage. Their display blended expressive wallpapers, richly grained woods, and fabrics in celadon and earthy tones, creating a tactile environment that reflected the spirit of mountain life.
“The collaboration revealed a shared appreciation for material craft and reverence for historical details.”
This creative exchange continues in Dubai, where the pair unveiled a new vision at the Downtown Design fair. Their latest work translates Buccellati’s refined aesthetics into two interconnected, shell-shaped rooms forming an elegant, luminous space.
Rooted in Buccellati’s tradition of silversmithing, the installation embodies the maison’s dedication to natural forms and timeless harmony, merging artistry and spatial experience with poetic precision.
Author’s summary: David/Nicolas reinterpret Buccellati’s silversmithing legacy through a serene Dubai installation that blends natural light, wood craftsmanship, and desert-inspired tones.
