Suzy Eddie Izzard, a world-renowned actor, comedian, and campaigner, visited St Michael’s CofE Primary School in Louth on November 3. The visit was organized by the Lincolnshire-based charity Creativity Academy, which aims to boost creativity and confidence among young people.
Currently touring internationally with her acclaimed solo show The Tragedy of Hamlet, Izzard met with Key Stage 2 pupils and staff before performing several scenes from the production, recently staged to sold-out audiences in London and on Broadway.
During the one-hour visit, Izzard joined Ben Keaton, an award-winning actor, writer, and director who founded the Creativity Academy. Having first worked together on the London comedy circuit in the 1990s, the pair spoke with the pupils about artistic life, Shakespeare’s legacy, and the creative process.
“Our aim has always been to give children direct access to outstanding creative minds — to show them that art, performance and ideas belong to everyone,” said Ben Keaton, emphasizing that the event offered an unforgettable experience and “a brilliant reminder of what’s possible when imagination meets courage.”
The Creativity Academy, a registered charity based in East Lindsey, focuses on connecting children with creative professionals to nurture talent and inspire curiosity through the arts.
