Canadiens Seek Offensive Boost from Bottom Six
Martin St-Louis aims to increase offensive output from his bottom six forwards by making a simple lineup change. He swapped Joe Veleno and Brendan Gallagher during practice on Monday in Brossard.
So far this season, St-Louis has largely maintained the same lines, only adjusting due to injuries. This change is notable: Gallagher moved from his veteran line to join Kirby Dach and Zack Bolduc, while Joe Veleno shifted to play alongside Jake Evans and Josh Anderson.
Martin St-Louis stated he is content with both lines' efforts and playing style, but hopes this adjustment will spark more offense.

- Gallagher spent the first five games with Dach and Bolduc, contributing 4 of his 6 points during that period.
- Bolduc earned 4 points and Dach 2 of his 3 points in those games.
- Evans and Anderson, who played those opening games with Patrik Laine, did not score any points.
Despite Laine's efforts, his unpredictable style didn't complement the direct playing approach favored by Evans and Anderson.
