Tiger Woods is widely regarded as one of the greatest golfers in history, yet British golf legend Luke Donald believes Rory McIlroy surpasses Woods in raw talent. The Englishman, who faced Woods numerous times on the PGA Tour, shared his candid view on the matter.
Donald, now 47, joined the PGA Tour in 2002 and competed against Woods during his peak years when the American dominated the sport with 15 major titles. McIlroy, 36, entered the professional scene in 2007 and quickly made his mark, later becoming Woods’s business partner in Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL).
“I've always said that of the guys I've played with out here on Tour, Rory has the most talent,” Donald said in 2011 ahead of the DP World Tour Championship. “He's young, he’s got a great future ahead of him, and I see him winning lots of tournaments and lots of majors.”
This statement continues to fuel debates about the most talented golfer of all time, showing that even among peers, admiration for McIlroy’s natural ability remains strong.
