At the 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, Swedish engineering and service company Alfa Laval emphasized China as its most important market. The company reaffirmed its strong commitment during the event.
CEO Tom Erixon explained the importance of the market experience for the team:
“Sometimes it’s important that we, as a team, experience the same thing. It’s very much a learning experience from what is for us the most important market in the world, China.”
CFO Fredrik Ekstrom highlighted the opportunities the expo provides:
“I think it’s a mix of meeting government officials, it’s meeting our customers, and of course, it’s expanding our view of what’s happening in China at the same time because when you look around, you really get a true sense of how important China is as a market for the rest of the world and why it’s important for us to be here as well."
Erixon also emphasized the influence of China’s Five-Year Plans on the company’s strategy:
“China’s Five-Year Plans have guided Alfa Laval’s long-term planning and are very predictive of what’s actually going to happen.”
Both executives conveyed that China plays a vital role in Alfa Laval’s business expansion and sustainability goals.
Alfa Laval identifies China as a crucial market driving both its growth and role in the global energy transition, guided by the country’s strategic policies.
