Weeks after a children's birthday celebration in the affluent suburb of Vaucluse turned into a heated argument, the dispute has escalated into a public feud drawing in lawyers.
The conflict centers on Danielle Plaskitt, an operator of the pony ride business My Pony Party from Sydney’s semi-rural northwest, and D'Leanne Lewis, an eastern suburbs real estate agent and star of the Amazon Prime Video series Luxe Listings Sydney. The trouble began after Lewis posted footage of their confrontation at her daughter Lyra’s third birthday party to Instagram, where she has about 70,000 followers.
“Get away from my ponies, now!”
The video went viral, portraying Plaskitt as impatient and aggressive as Lewis carried her daughter away from the scene. However, Plaskitt later explained that she’d only lost her temper because the guests were being “obstructive and difficult,” the company’s terms were ignored, and her crew struggled with parking.
Following reports on the incident, tensions have risen further. Both women are now exploring legal action, with Lewis already issuing a cease-and-desist notice. The disagreement began after Lewis hired Plaskitt’s business via a party planner to provide pony rides for Lyra’s birthday event at Kimberley Reserve, Sydney’s east, on September 28.
