Balmain has entered a new era with the appointment of French designer Antonin Tron as creative director. He succeeds Olivier Rousteing, who led the French fashion house for 14 years.
Tron is best known as the founder of the brand Atlein. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, he has contributed to design teams at major fashion houses, including Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Saint Laurent.
In 2016, Tron launched Atlein and received the First Collections Prize at the same year’s ANDAM Fashion Awards. Now, he will dedicate his focus exclusively to leading Balmain’s creative direction.
“I am deeply honoured to be joining Balmain, and grateful to Mr. Rachid and Matteo for entrusting me with this extraordinary House. I wish to express my gratitude to Olivier Rousteing for building Balmain into the global brand it is today.”
Antonin Tron will reveal his first collection for Balmain during the Paris FW26 season in March.
