Introducing the New Man at Balmain: Antonin Tron

Antonin Tron, founder of the Paris-based label Atlein, becomes the new creative director of Balmain following Olivier Rousteing’s departure after a remarkable 14-year tenure that multiplied the brand’s revenues tenfold.

At 41, Tron brings his deep appreciation for Balmain’s heritage of craftsmanship and elegance to the next chapter of the house. His label Atlein, celebrated for its innovative jersey work and feminist-influenced approach to femininity, has earned critical recognition for its technical artistry and refined sensibility.

“Balmain has a truly inspiring history. At its heart, the house embodies savoir-faire, culture, sensuality and elegance – fashion that is radiant, precise and bold. This resonates deeply with me, and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to build on this incredible legacy.”

– Antonin Tron

Tron is set to present his first Balmain collection for autumn/winter 2026 in March next year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Antonin to the house of Balmain. Antonin’s approach to design, rooted in the art of draping and the physicality of fabric, marks a continuation of Pierre Balmain’s foundational belief that ‘dressmaking is the architecture of movement’.”

– Matteo Sgarbossa, CEO of Balmain
