The LA Kings earned their second consecutive win on the road, skating to a dominant 5–1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night at Centre Bell in Montreal.

First Period

After an evenly matched opening period, the Canadiens struck first in the final minute. On a 3-on-2 rush, Montreal moved the puck from right to left, allowing Josh Anderson to fire a one-timer that appeared to deflect off a Kings defender before beating goaltender Darcy Kuemper. The goal marked Anderson’s second of the season and gave Montreal a 1–0 lead after 20 minutes.

Second Period

The Kings responded early in the second with a straightforward play to tie the game. Anze Kopitar won a faceoff cleanly in the offensive zone, directing the puck to Brandt Clarke at the left point. Clarke passed across the blue line to Joel Edmundson, who ripped a one-timer that beat Samuel Montembeault, leveling the score at 1–1.

Exactly three minutes later, Los Angeles took the lead while capitalizing on a delayed penalty. With an extra attacker on the ice, the Kings maintained pressure, moving the puck effectively in the zone until Adrian Kempe received it at the center point to continue the offensive surge.

“We used a simple approach and stayed patient with the puck,” said LA coach Jim Hiller after the game.

From that moment on, the Kings controlled play, building momentum that carried through the remainder of the game.

Author’s Summary
