Elizabeth Olsen recently discussed the popular "6-7" trend during an interview with Seth Meyers, revealing that she is surprisingly engaged with this Gen Alpha phenomenon despite not being very active online.
Olsen appeared on NBC’s talk show to promote her upcoming movie Eternity, in which she portrays Joan, a 90-year-old woman. She shared that she often feels like an older person in real life because she is somewhat disconnected from contemporary culture.
“I don’t really know what’s going on in culture, but I do know about 6-7.”
Seth Meyers acknowledged her awareness of the trend and admitted he purposely avoids learning its meaning from his children. Olsen kindly clarified the trend’s appeal to him.
“I think the reason they love it is because it’s absurd and random,” Olsen said. “I think we’re really doing a lot of things that are, I don’t know, maybe cynical or pointing at something. And there’s something really funny to me about the, like, abstraction and absurdity of just getting excited about two numbers that are in order.”
Meyers found it amusing that the numbers "6-7" have always appeared in that order but are only recently gaining attention, a point Olsen confirmed.
Elizabeth Olsen embraces the quirky "6-7" trend as a humorous and absurd cultural moment, reflecting her playful connection to youth culture despite feeling out of touch.
