Willmott Dixon has started construction on a new building at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, marking the beginning of the government's new hospital programme.
The four-storey extension, procured for £140m, will replace the hospital's current 50-year-old emergency department and provide nearly twice the capacity of the existing facility.
"This represents not just the beginning of a building, but the next step in enhancing the care and wellbeing of thousands of patients every year." - Rob Woolcock, Director at Willmott Dixon
