Creation of the MVP Character
Conrad Thompson of AdFreeShows.com spoke to former WWE creative team member Andrew Goldstein for The Insiders podcast, revealing how Dusty Rhodes came up with the idea for the MVP gimmick.
According to Goldstein, an NFL star inspired the creation of the MVP character. Goldstein stated:
You could just see the wheel spinning, I mean, the best example of that is MVP. The idea was born when MVP was in developmental, and his character was still in its early stages.

The full body suit and sports-styled presentation of the former US Champion and current AEW star were part of the MVP gimmick.
