Windows 10 Extended Security Updates
Windows 10 End of Life is today, October 14, 2025, but users can extend its lifespan with the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program.
The ESU program allows users to continue receiving updates, including those with a local account, for a fee of $30.
- Users in the EU can enroll in the ESU program for free with a Microsoft account.
- Users outside the EU need to sync Settings to OneDrive in addition to having a Microsoft account.
- In the US, users can also use 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points to sign up for the ESU program.
Microsoft says users without a Microsoft account or Rewards points can subscribe to the $30 ESU.
