The Colorado Springs City Council has approved a resolution honoring the U.S. Senate's designation of October 14, 2025, as the National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.
Charlie Kirk is a conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA.
The assassination of Kirk is compared to President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr.
The resolution was introduced by Councilor Brandy Williams and passed with the support of Councilors Williams, Lynette Crow-Iverson, David Leinweber, Brian Risley, and Tom Bailey.
