Reform Receives First Cryptocurrency Donation
Cryptocurrency donations are raising concerns about transparency in political funding.
Reform UK has reportedly received a cryptocurrency donation, according to The Observer. The party informed the Electoral Commission about the donation, but its value has not been declared yet.
- Parties must declare donations over £7,500 to the Electoral Commission, but only if they exceed £11,180.
- Donations must be declared within 30 days of the end of the quarterly reporting period.
A Reform spokesman said: "All donations above the reporting limit will be disclosed in the usual way.
There is no indication that Reform has broken any rules regarding the declaration of the donation.
