Knoll's 'Biboni' Sofa: A Blend of 1970s Icons and Michelin Man Inspiration
Architects Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee designed the 'Biboni' sofa for Knoll, drawing inspiration from 1970s design icons, including the Michelin Man, Bibendum, and macaroni.
The "Biboni" has a chubbiness that feels welcoming and informal. It also has the precision and purity of a centrepiece in a room.
According to Johnston and Lee, the sofa's curves are meant to boldly envelop the body, with a frame that appears to gently float. The 'Biboni' collection includes two-, three-, and four-seaters, as well as sectionals with chaise options.
