Saffron, a non-profit organisation founded in Bristol in 2015, is pushing for gender equality in the music industry.
After 10 years, the organisation has achieved significant milestones, but there is still more work to be done. Founder Laura Lewis-Paul initially started Saffron while working in community development, running a creative programme for young people.
She wasn’t planning to start a movement.
Today, Saffron has become a major cultural force in Bristol, redefining who gets to create, perform, and be heard in the music industry.
Saffron's founder and alumni reflect on the organisation's successes and the challenges that still need to be addressed.
