Marine Communications Experts Compete in Thunderstruck
Squads of Marine communication experts participated in Thunderstruck, a first-of-its-kind contest of field radio and combat skills.
A team of four Marines competed in a six-mile track, carrying radios and demonstrating their skills.
The winning team, from the headquarters regiment of 1st Marine Logistics Group, emerged from 15 squads to win the inaugural Marine Corps-wide field communications competition.
The Thunderstruck Communications Team Competition
was hosted by 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and run by Marine Wing Communication Squadron 38, to test teams of Marines operating radios, networks, and communications gear.
