Christchurch motorsport star Chris White, the Rookie winner in the 2024-2025 Bridgestone GR86 Championship, made a notable debut at Bathurst, supporting the Bathurst 1000.
White, who secured his drive in the third round of the 2025 Toyota Australia GR Cup due to his rookie successes in NZ, aimed to make steady progress throughout the weekend's practice sessions, qualifying, and three races.
Although a significant crash in the first race hindered his chances of advancing from 26th on the grid, White demonstrated substantial improvement in the subsequent races, finishing 22nd in the second race and 14th in the final race on Sunday.
We had set out to find the pace to be in or just outside the top ten within the three races so in the end getting to 14th with only two races was pretty satisfying.
Author's summary: Chris White makes successful Bathurst debut.
