Air India Crash: Pilot's Father Seeks Judicial Inquiry

The 91-year-old father of the Air India pilot-in-command, Pushkaraj Sabharwal, has moved the Supreme Court seeking an independent judicial probe into the fatal crash in Ahmedabad.

The incident occurred on June 12, when the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft crashed while taking off from Ahmedabad, resulting in 260 deaths.

According to the petition, Sabharwal has requested the constitution of a judicially monitored committee headed by a retired Supreme Court judge, with independent experts from the aviation sector as its members.

The committee should conduct a fair, transparent and technically sound investigation into the crash.
