Raytheon is investing $53 million in new production facilities to meet growing demand for the LTAMDS radar for Patriot systems.
The facilities, spanning 23,000 square feet, will produce LTAMDS radars designed to enhance air and missile defense capabilities against hypersonic threats, including Russia's Kinzhal missiles.
Company representatives told Defense News about the new radar and its production.
The system has received approval from the U.S. Army for small-scale production and is undergoing testing, including operational testing in Guam.
