Japan Requests OpenAI To Respect Anime & Manga Copyrights
The Japanese Government has formally requested OpenAI to refrain from infringing copyrights related to its anime and manga industries.
This request was made after concerns were raised about anime-style videos featuring existing characters created via OpenAI's Sora 2 video generator.
Minoru Kiuchi, Japan's Minister of State for Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence Strategy, revealed this at a press conference on October 10.
