A 14-year-old student at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School in Sudbury was arrested and faces charges after allegedly threatening staff and students with a pair of scissors.
According to Greater Sudbury Police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn, officers were dispatched to the school at around 2:20 p.m. on October 15, 2025, in relation to a weapons complaint.
Information provided that a student was irate and was armed with a pair of scissors, acting erratically and threatening staff and students.
The school administration had placed the school in lockdown while awaiting police arrival. Officers arrived in less than 10 minutes and located the student outside the school, where the male student was taken into custody.
