BBC Public Survey Results
A major BBC survey, "Our BBC, Our Future", gathered over 870,000 responses, showing strong support for the broadcaster's core mission.
The survey revealed that 83% of respondents backed the BBC's mission to "inform, educate and entertain". However, significant gaps emerged between what the public values and how effective they believe the BBC is in delivering on those values.
- 91% of respondents said independence from government is important
- Only 43% felt the BBC is currently effective in this area
