A catastrophic start to the 2025 United States Grand Prix sprint race saw Oscar Piastri bumped into Lando Norris, taking both McLarens out of the race.
Max Verstappen won the race, closing in on the title, with George Russell in second and Carlos Sainz third, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.
The incident occurred at the opening corner, where Piastri got a better start than Norris and pulled alongside him, resulting in a collision that took both McLarens out of the race.
The McLarens were the victims of a Turn 1 melée that undermined F1’s claim to represent the pinnacle of motor racing.
