A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping people rehabilitate from head injuries.
Together with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery, they aim to support individuals with brain injuries who are discharged home without wider support.
You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.
Many people may not understand that they've had a brain injury, and they might be at the beginning of a legal fight for compensation without knowing how to proceed.
While Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people every week, there are more individuals who go home alone and have never heard of the charity.
Thanks to the new partnership, Headway Devon can now provide support in hospitals, reaching more people in need.
