Teen Accused of Possessing Gun Magazine and Ammunition Granted Bail

A 19-year-old man, Dinari Coleby, was granted $8,500 bail after being accused of possessing 79 rounds of ammunition and a rifle magazine in New Providence.

Prosecutors allege that Coleby was found with 35 .223 rounds, 24 .40 rounds, and ten 7.62 rounds on October 16, as well as a 5.56 rifle magazine and a .40 pistol magazine.

Coleby pleaded not guilty to three counts of possession of ammunition, two counts of possession of a component part of a firearm, and one count of possession of ammunition with intent to supply.

Despite objections from Assistant Superintendent of Police Lincoln McKenzie, the defendant was granted bail with conditions, including signing in at the Elizabeth Estates Police Station every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday by 6pm.

No comment from the defendant or his lawyer was provided.
