The men's race in Marbella is set to feature a strong field, with most big names on the start list, except for notable absentees Hayden Wilde and Lionel Sanders.
An impressive men's field will line up for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, including the Norwegian trio that dominated the IRONMAN World Championship in Nice, as well as past winners Jelle Geens and Rico Bogen.
Hayden Wilde was recovering from serious injuries after being hit by a truck in Japan and was unable to participate in his intended qualifying race.
Casper Stornes, who led the Norwegian one-two-three finish at the IMWC in Nice, will compete in the 70.3 World Championships.
Author's summary: Norwegian athletes are expected to dominate the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.
