President Mahama's Initiative for Persons with Disabilities
President John Mahama has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to creating a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities.
He announced a new initiative to distribute rechargeable motorised wheelchairs and directed all ministries to ensure full compliance with Ghana's Disability Act.
"We intend to introduce a system for distributing rechargeable motorised wheelchairs for persons with disability,"
The President also directed all ministers of state to review their obligations under the Disability Act and present action plans for full compliance within the shortest possible time.
This initiative is part of his government's broader agenda to remove barriers, promote empowerment, and foster equality for all Ghanaians.
